Bree Garreffa and Tom Rogers Lead the Chargeat Wycheproof’s Riordan King of the Mountain

The Riordan King of the Mountain, Australia’s toughest foot race,

took place on Saturday, September 28, in Wycheproof. Originating from 1978 to 1988, the Wycheproof King of the Mountain race challenged competitors to haul 63.5kg bags of wheat up the world’s smallest mountain, Mount Wycheproof. The event, which initially drew participants from across the nation, was revived in 2023 by the Wycheproof-Narraport Football Club after

a 35-year hiatus. This exciting comeback has once again put Wycheproof on the

map as the home of one of Australia’s most gruelling races.
